Taste of the Beach 2021
It’s Time . . . for Taste of the Beach, an annual Outer Banks Food and Wine Festival
We are starting 2021 off right with the Taste of the Beach Annual Food and Wine Festival on the Outer Banks. The Outer Banks Restaurant Association announced this year’s Taste of the Beach will be held from April 16 to 18. We invite you to come to and stay with us, enjoy the beach, food and drinks at local restaurants. Some of them are within walking distance from our hotel.
Over 40 restaurants and bars are participating on this year’s Taste of the Beach. Every year chefs come up with new recipes and they enter a contest for different categories. Dinners get an opportunity to taste new dishes and sometimes also vote on their favorites.
Our Beachcombers restaurant is not participating in the Taste of the Beach contest but we’ll be open to serve our guests breakfast from 7 am to 11 am.
Dinners can expect the delectable foods and wines from local restaurants and bars for which this festival is famous. Every year food connoisseurs and wine aficionados have tickled their tastebuds at this event.
Tips for attendees
This year’s festival will be a bit different than previous years. Due to concerns surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic, precautions are in place to ensure the safety of guests, staff, vendors, and members of the local community. Social distancing and masks are required until you are seated if you are dining in.
One thing that has not changed is the ability for eventgoers to connect, share, and enjoy a selection of best food and wine.
Here are some practical tips for getting the most of this year’s food and wine festival.
Never drink and drive. Make sure there is a designated driver. If no one wants to serve in that role, there is the option of taking a taxi, Uber, or Lyft at the end of the night.
Make sure you get your tickets ahead of time for the restaurants you plan to visit. They sell fast especially at some of the upscale restaurants and those who won competitions in previews years.
The Outer Banks Restaurant Association is still hard at work planning the event. Here is what we know about participants so far.
On opening day, April 16, guests can enjoy morning mimosas and breakfast tapas during the Sunrise at Sandtrap at the Sandtrap Tavern. It kicks off at 8 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. Four breakfast-inspired tapas are featured. For the last day, attendees have their choice of farm and sea to table favorites and Southern Sunday brunch among the mouthwatering options.
Check out the full Schedule of Events on the Taste of the Beach website. Don’t forget to book in early as tickets are limited.
